Worship
For most, our worship service on Sunday mornings will be your first introduction to Mercy Presbyterian Church. We meet Sunday mornings, 10am, at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. All are welcome! If you would like to see an example of the content of our worship, you can look under the Resources tab at the Sermons and Bulletins. We want our worship to be shaped by Scripture and to
communicate God’s grace through the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout. In worship, God comes to us through his
word and in the sacraments, reminding us of his glory and his grace. And we come to him in songs of praise
and thanksgiving and with prayers of confession and adoration, as we make our
needs known to him. We are not
simply observers in worship, but participants as we respond to what God has
done for us through his Son.
We want our worship services to be intelligible to those who
are new and unfamiliar with Christianity because God wants to be known. We also want our worship to be
formative, that you would leave knowing more of what it means to “present your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your
spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1).
Please do not feel the need to dress a certain way. We are not very formal. Our hope is that you would come wanting
to be engaged and not feeling the pressure to conform.
