Mercy Presbyterian Church is located in Forest, Virginia. We would be glad for you to join us as our congregation continues to form and grow. Our hope is to be a church that reflects the mercy we have received from God to our neighbors in Forest. We believe that the church is not simply a place where we hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, but that the church is itself part of the gospel, as people are drawn together through Jesus and model God’s mercy to their community.

We meet for worship Sundays at Forest Middle School. Our worship service begins at 10:30am. We have a time of coffee and community beginning at 10:00AM.

Our Background

Mercy Presbyterian Church was organized as a congregation in the Presbyterian Church in America in June 2013. We are a plant of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg and the Blue Ridge Presbytery.

Together with Redeemer Presbyterian Church, we desire to be a church that participates in starting new churches in the region, with the conviction that Jesus intends the church be the strongest witness to the gospel both in its proclamation of Scripture and through its people’s lives in their communities. Mercy Presbyterian began meeting at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Sept 2008, and in late 2009 Rob Edwards was called to pastor the new church and arrived in March 2010.

The name Mercy Presbyterian Church was chosen because it communicates both what we have received from God and what we are to reflect to our neighbors. We continue to need God’s mercy and we desire that God’s mercy in Christ might be known through our church.
